 Biography:
 
Marina Harris was born in Famagusta, Cyprus. A popular international contemporary Artist, her inspiration in Art started early. She studied realistic painting at the Dubai International Arts Centre and continued her education at Central ST. Martin’s college of Art in London. She taught Art and served as an Arts Advisory Committee member at the Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Centre. Marina is a professionally accredited strategic planning consultant in Arts Management by the Massachusetts-Amherst University-USA. Member of the Cyprus Chamber of Fine Arts and Saatchi and Saatchi UK, Marina is represented in Cyprus, Dubai, UK and New York. Style and inspirations:
Marina‘s initial passion was for realistic paintings in oil. Her work over the years ranges from portraits to contemporary expressionism and /or figurative abstract. She was initially fascinated by the wild, unspoilt nature of the Emirates but as a true Mediterranean she captures the universal beauty of her home country. Her work is characterized by strong tonal variations and constantly challenges her own talent by trying to experiment with subject matters and techniques for new creative effects. Marina’s compositions show the natural forms of a real world in a semi abstract way.
Her latest work is boat scenes painted in a warm expressionistic style, titles of which are inspired by famous Greek poets Seferis and Elitis.
