Marina's biography

Marina Harris was born in Cyprus. A popular International contemporary artist, her inspiration in art started early and was connected to nature. She studied realistic portraiture with pakistani artist Shakeel and continued her education at central St Martin's college of art in London. She is represented in Dubai, Cyprus and New York.

Style and Inspiration
Marina's initial passion was for realistic paintings in oil. Her work over the years ranges from 'the Old Masters' portraits to contemporary expressionism and /or semi abstracts. She is fascinated by the wild, unspoilt nature of the Emirates but as a true Mediterranean she captures the universal beauty of her home country. Her work is characterized by strong tonal variations and constantly challenges her own talent by trying to experiment with subject matters and techniques for new creative effects.

Her latest work is 'boat' scenes painted in a warm expressionistic style, titles of which are inspired by the famous Greek poets Seferis and Elitis.

Marina spends her time between England, Cyprus and Dubai. She is an instructor at the Dubai community Theatre and Arts Centre and is a member of the arts advisory committee. Her work and inspirations can be viewed online.
